Manilla Road started out as a 3 piece heavy metal band from Kansas in the late 70's. The original members were Mark Shelton, Scott Park, and Rick Fisher. This original group of 3 guys would put out 3 albums together before there were lineup changes.
The next five albums were made with a new drummer, Randy "Thrasher" Foxe.

The first 8 albums, are classic, old school metal. After they released their 1990 album, The Courts of Chaos, the band split up. Mark Shelton continued with a solo project, releasing one album, The Circus Maximus in 1992, which his record label forced him to use Manilla Road as the brand. Mark dropped out of sight for almost a decade, then reformed the band with all new members and released Atlantis Rising in 2001 and has been going strong ever since.
I'm going to start with the first reformation album, Atlantis Rising, where the band is no longer a 3 piece. Most of the songs on this album are 6+ minutes long.

My pick from the album, Sea Witch
